Throughout life I have had many internal struggles which I wrestled—social anxiety, depression, and many little compulsive behaviors that I wanted to be DONE with. Any time New Years rolled around I would vow I would finally conquer certain weaknesses, and be victorious.
But each year I would do good for a month or two but then go right back to how I was. And it didn’t seem to matter how hard I tried, I just wasn’t successful. Eventually with certain aspects of my life I just gave up, that there was no hope, that I was broken.
But the truth is that I was never broken, the only thing broken was my understanding. Because once I changed my focus from just try harder, to just grow smarter, then everything changed. Once I finally understood myself and the problems I was facing, from a higher perspective, was when I had the victories.
“Failure” is RARELY a result of a lack of ability or will power. So I urge all of you to stop focusing so much on your inabilities or your “will-power” and instead to seek out wisdom about your problems and yourself.
This is when you will begin the journey of creating the 1,000 victories of your life!
